My 500gb 4G WIFI broadbacn is getting eaten quickly

My son bought an Xbox One .I know the game download was heavy at 100gb , but 50gb has also disappeared last night .He only played for a couple of hours . We are going to run out quickly at this rate , or he wont be allowed to use the Xbox which is a shame in the current climate . Any ideas of what is happening , and how can we top up the data as I cant see how to ?

Thanks

Hi @Bigbee1960.

Was the XBOX left connected overnight?

It may of done updates in the background.

What other devices are connected?

Jon

Hi Jon

I think it was connected last night .The xbox says it has used 2.3gb in 24 hours but we lost 50gb over night .Maybe the xbox updated its software?

Best Regards,

That's a possibility if it's new, @Bigbee1960.

Or possibly a game update.

Could you try not connecting it when it's not in use?

Jon

Hi
Yes it was brand new ,COD took 100gb and then we lost around another 5ogb over night without explanation , that's a huge usage of our remaining data .Can we get more than 500gb per month ?

Thanks @Bigbee1960.

Games can have huge updates to do and if the system has updated itself it could of used much more.

I'd recommend disconnecting devices when you're not using them and seeing how your usage goes.
