I upgraded my 7 year olds iPad in Feb and she cannot use it outside the home. It will only work while connects to a home router. She hasn’t used any data since the upgrade as she has to connect to my hotspot if we are in the car etc. I have tried resetting back to factory settings. Have tried removing the sim and reentering and still not working. I am paying for a brand new device that doesn’t work.

Afternoon @Suxyb
Welcome to the community.
Did you get a new SIM card with the upgrade?
If so, are you using the new or old SIM?
Hope to hear back from you soon 🙂
Leanne.

Yes it’s a different size sim so we are using the new sim.
I have also taken the old sim out of the old iPad (just trying everything).
I’ve reset everything turned all data wifi etc off and back on and still no luck.

Thanks @Suxyb
Does the old SIM work in the new iPad?
Do you have signal showing when the new SIM card is in the iPad?
Thanks 🙂
Leanne.

The old sim doesn’t fit in the new iPad.
I am unsure what you mean by showing a signal with the SIM card in.
It will say no sim if it’s not in the iPad but ipad will only work if connected to either the home router or my hotspot.
When out and about it just says not connected to internet try again or retry.

Sorry for any confusion @Suxyb
That's great thanks, did you register the new SIM card when you received this?
Could you also check something else for me, if you log into your My EE account and go to Menu then Settings do you have Mobile Data turned on?
Thanks.
Leanne.

Hi yes it’s switched on and I registered the new sim when we upgraded.
It says the sim is active on my EE.

Hi @Suxyb.
If you turn off WiFi on the iPad, does it display 4G in the top right corner?
If not, what does it display?
