Friends and family

I have received a friends and family code from a family member but when I go to use it online whatever deal I try to use it on it says it is not eligible for that deal and I haven’t tried on multiple different deals and it’s the same message that comes up I can’t seem to find the terms and conditions for the code but the message I received for the EE code it says it can be used on any new or upgrade plans which I am due for any help would be appreciated

Thank you I’ve had a horrendous time trying to get it sorted as nobody seems to know what to do and all everyone has said is we can not deal with it or just cut me off I’ve been trying for weeks
