Just been sent a EE Data Sim for use in my MiFi.
Intend to buy a 6 Gb 90day top up for use when we are away in motorhome.
When does the 90 day period start?
When I buy it the top up?
When I put the sim into the MiFi device?
or hopefully when I put it into the device and turn device on to use it?
Do I have to activate it?
Do I get a countdown on MyEE showing number of days left?
Agree a lot of questions but have got really bored trying to find answers on the website.

Hi James _B
OK connected via the SIM and using the app I get as far as it saying enter number , which I do and press confirm number after entering captcha.
It then says "We now know this is a 4GEE WIFI number"
blag blah
"to finish setting up your account"
connect etc.
Well I am already connected obviously, how do I get to a page where I can buy some time.
PLEASE do not say go to add-on.ee.co.uk because all that says is turn off my wifi.
Given the device is a MIFI device and communicates one way by 4G and the other by wifi to my phone how I can turn wifi off and communicate with EE or anyone for that matter

Hi @RegG
Thanks for coming back to us and for trying this.
Within the My EE app, do you have an option for packs showing?
If not, we will need to get this looked into for you, please give us a call and our Pay as you go Care team can help you get set up.
Leanne.

Hi
I just saw your post whilst attempting to find info on data monthly plans with no contract. So I wanted to mention a couple of things that I encountered as I have a 4g wifi router.
I was at one point listed as a user but not the main account holder, I live with my elderly disabled mum who does not use the internet and its only me that uses it, so when I rang EE they told me I was not listed as the acc holder and updated my status which fixed things for a while and I was then able to access the page that lets you buy the data.
I currently find since using more data recently that if I run out before I realise its low I then cannot access the page that gives you the buy data options. I also get the "turn off wifi" problem yet I'm using my mobile (not with EE) to top up & buy the data addon...so I topup via the EE app which works fine but cannot go any further so I end up having to ring to get the data addon I want.
Sorry this is probably not much help but thought I'd try...
Best wishes

Hi Leanne_T
Thanks for the sugestion.
No, I have no option for packs showing so followed your advice and tried to call them.
Twenty minutes and no answer as they are busy, I am sorry I despair, what are there opening hours, I may try again but then again I may just give in and stay with the opposition because life is too short to spend it hanging on a phone for someone who may or may not answer and then may or may not know the answer or more likely ask me to ring another number and wait again.

Hi, Furbabyetc
Thanks for your input into my saga.
I have basically given up, 20 minutes on the phone and a constant "sorry we are very busy" message leaves me with no hope and I despair of organisations that even with the current circumstances cannot do better than 20 minutes to answer.
It either means the product is very poor therefore a lot of problems or they do not care about their customers , either way a waste of my time.
Sorry about the rant but I am seriously fed up with them.
All the best to you and may your addons arrive when requested.

Hi @RegG
I am very sorry to hear this.
Our Pay as you go Care team will be able to help, they are open 8am - 9pm (Mon to Fri) and 8am - 8pm (Sat and Sun), our get in touch page has all our contact numbers and opening hours.
We’re doing everything we can to help our customers and look after the wellbeing of our people during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Our contact centres in the UK and Ireland are open to help keep you connected, but we have fewer people available to take your calls.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks.
Leanne.

Hi Leanne_T
Well I haven't got through to PaYG team yet but somehow a mysterious hand has appeared and took me to a page where I could give EE money and it would allow me to buy some data, sounds good BUT have received no email confirming this as requested, so not actually convinced yet, I shall try PAYG team anyway and express my wrath at the sheer waste of time it has all been trying to register and buy data from your organisation.
Thank you for your help and determination to resolve this issue.

No problem @RegG
Did you purchase a pack?
Can you access data when connected to the WiFi device?
Thanks for keeping me updated 🙂
Leanne.

Pack bought and data accessed. At last!!
One question, my device shows an email logo with a four beside it, how can they be accessed, more a question for my device provider I guess but you never know.
Actually two questions, can I use my VPN on EE and over this device?

Hi @RegG,
To read your messages:
make sure you've got your 4GEE WiFi device connected to another device with a screen i.e. your phone, tablet or laptop
enter 192.168.1.1 into your internet browser on the connected device i.e. your phone, tablet or laptop
enter your username and password - the default ones are:
click on the text message icon to read your texts
You should find most VPN services work with your mobile data connection, although some older VPN clients lack IPv6 support which you'll need for use with a mobile connection.
Hope this helps.
James
