Free Phone - Real or Scam?

I had an EE message flash up saying each Saturday they “reward” some customers with a chance to win a Samsung phone. It then prompts you to choose your phone and then asks you to pay £1.

I wasn’t sure if this is an EE scam.

@Benmurphy1  That’s a scam,  you can report it by forwarding the message to 7726 then when requested the number that sent it.  

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thanks. This wasn’t a text message – it was an advert that flashed up on my way to the BBC website on my phone.
