Not gonna lie, seems like quite a crappy move from Samsung for a few reasons.
1. Loyalty; They are kinda screwing over loyal customers, as you said early adopters which are the most loyal/hardcore Samsung customers gain nothing. They have nothing to gain and everything to lose if the device ends up having problems.
2. The more you spend, the less you get; You get to claim a galaxy watch worth £300 for buying a £1k phone, so you get a freebie that’s worth 30% the value of the amount you spend. If you go the extra mile and give even more of your money to Samsung by buying a Fold 3, you get…A S-Pen kit, worth £80, which is only a freebie about 5% the value paid. You spend almost double and get back a freebie that costs 1/4 of the cheaper phones freebie.
3. Backorders; Quite a nasty thing to try and sell more phones when you haven’t fully finished your backorders from release date and are delaying your customers orders all the time due to chip shortage or whatever, just to promote it and try get people buying more…If you don’t have any lemons don’t sell the lemonade you ain’t got.
Just my 2 cents, cause If I had bought one of these recently, especially just a couple days before the offer went live, I’d feel cheated and be ridiculously cheesed off.
