I have a engineer coming tomorrow to install my fiber but I'm not sure I need one as I all ready have fiber through ee and only upgraded

Sorry I got confused between discussions on different forums. G.Fast is still classed as an FTTC product by Openreach quite rightly IMHO, the delvery from the cabinet is by another method.
So, there is Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC} then G.Fast is utilised (via a side pod) to deliver (via G.Fast tech) faster speeds (up to 300mbps) to those within 350 metres (line length) of the cabinet.
Ergo it is still an FTTC product. No FTTC no G.Fast.
