Disgusting Price Increase!

I've just had the email that you are now cashing in on the cost of living crisis by smashing a massive 14.4 % increase on my bill.

Its absolutely disgusting, at a time when people are struggling to eat and heat their homes you decide to hit us with that ridiculous increase, not just a few % you up it by 14.4%

Its sick and I'll never be using EE again when this contract ends, I'll also be going out of my way to warn other people from using you, there's absolutely no justification in a hike like that, its pure greed and you should be ashamed.

You're a disgrace!

To be fair some are charging nearly 18% increase and almost all phone company’s do this apart from a few MVNO providers

Exactly, not everyone hikes them up through the roof, Giffgaff have specifically tweeted and advertised they are proud to announce during a cost of living crisis we will be freezing all prices.

EE could do that or give a marginal increase, 15% or almost 18% its all the same, its disgusting and its done for one reason, selfish, greedy profiteering from the people at the top.

I agree that this is disgusting.

I appreciate cost go up for firms, however 14.4% is unreasonable, especially given that 2 months after signing my contract in January last year it went up by around 7% in March 2022, which is again unreasonable given the close proximity to signing the contract. I am on sim only mobile plus a 5G home broadband package. After many years, both will be cancelled as soon as contract is seen out. I'm not even interested what they have to say anymore.

@Karltorbay : Where will you go when many networks are also increasing prices @ inflation + x%?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Its the principle, treating customers like **bleep** and thinking they'll just keep putting up with it to line their own pockets is disgusting and people wont stand for it.

Most places offer deals for new customers so switching to anyone would put people in a better position, I dont even think you understand what you are defending.

thats the thing isnt it, you call to cancel and they suddenly spring into life like some pathetic child trying to stop you from leaving, oooh you can have this discount and that discount, its embarrassing and disgraceful that they dont just look after their customers.

We should all make official complaints

So I have been doing some research , this could only apply to handset customers because they seem to be covered by the consumer credit act ,  they have to tell the borrower how much they have to pay periodically and where that amount can be determined in total under the agreement! EE are unable to provide this information , EE will never be be able to tell you the total that you have to pay under the agreement due to the price change clause. Then did the sales agent explain what affect the price increase, it's the sales agents responsibility to make sure the price changes are correctly explained and what factors, then ultimately did EE take in to account this extra amount when they sold the contract and could you afford it.

Before somebody tries to defend EE , paragraph 3.10 if even the borrower says he does not require and explanation of the credit product , this does not above the creditor from the legal responsibility of providing an adequate explanation , remember we are all not accountants and we do not know about what decides the price increase.

So that's going to be my plan of attract to the CEO department of EE.

I have a few other things to go at but don't want to give EE and advance warning of what I have found.
