I've just had the email that you are now cashing in on the cost of living crisis by smashing a massive 14.4 % increase on my bill.
Its absolutely disgusting, at a time when people are struggling to eat and heat their homes you decide to hit us with that ridiculous increase, not just a few % you up it by 14.4%
Its sick and I'll never be using EE again when this contract ends, I'll also be going out of my way to warn other people from using you, there's absolutely no justification in a hike like that, its pure greed and you should be ashamed.
You're a disgrace!

So what? Just because they can, doesn’t mean they have to. Just like TESCO, it will be revealed that record profits will be had because costs in NO way increased in line with base CPI. They likely didn’t increase by the usual 4% they raise regardless of the CPI.
People should be asking why there isn’t a disruptor willing to start a telco that doesn’t engage in the BS “all the companies” engage in. T-Mobile turned the US cell market on its head by doing just that. Lack of regulation allows the collusion the collusion that allows companies to literally run their business in the same way at the customers’ expense.

Regardless of what the contracts says, it’s an executive decision to actually raise prices. At any time the ELT can take the decision to reduce the amount, even as a one time event, or not raise it at all.
No one would look at a 14.4% increase in price and think that’s not going to cause significant hardship for customers. It’s price gouging and profiteering. Period.
Are you an employee? Why would you defend this?

@mflaggo : It is the height of foolishness to disregard the wording of a contract you have agreed to. You do so at your own peril.
No, I am just a user like you. I'm not defending EE but just stating the facts as are apparent to all & not making up fairy tales of what I'd like to see but isn't there.

Right. Ok.
So, you’re happy with an unnecessary, if contractually legal, 14.4% raise? If the answer is yes, then I completely understand why BREXIT happened, Tories have been in power for 10+ years in spite of their record, and companies feel like they can do this without consequences.
Pedantic is a word that comes to mind.

@mflaggo : Does that mean I voted for Brexit?

If you like EE's network have a look at 1pmobile. Runs on EE but much better pricing. 200GB for £20 a month. No commitment.

GiffGaff is a pretty awful network. Very slow speeds, no WiFi calling, No Volte.

You are a star @Paulg0
Seems 1pmobile (https://www.1pmobile.com/ ) is incredible good deal/alternative for those who still wants to use EE network but don’t want to tie in contract (and CPI increase) with just fraction of the EE deals.

Been using GiffGaff, and a relative uses them and has done for years, seems ok and better coverage where I live than EE. £20 a month for 100GB Always on data and unlimited texts & calls. As you'll note with my comments about EE I don't value their coverage much as it's atrocious where I live. GiffGaff runs on the O2 network and is a lot better here.
I don't need WiFi calling if I've got good coverage - which I now have at home with GiffGaff. I have seen 3G and 3-4 bars of service with them whereas with EE it was 1-2 maximum and often see "EDGE" on my iPad which also utilises EE's cellular network and is kept in the same room in the house where my mobile is 90% of the time.
