I've just had the email that you are now cashing in on the cost of living crisis by smashing a massive 14.4 % increase on my bill.
Its absolutely disgusting, at a time when people are struggling to eat and heat their homes you decide to hit us with that ridiculous increase, not just a few % you up it by 14.4%
Its sick and I'll never be using EE again when this contract ends, I'll also be going out of my way to warn other people from using you, there's absolutely no justification in a hike like that, its pure greed and you should be ashamed.
You're a disgrace!

Hi AJ2023,
Thats another very valid point proving what a disgrace these contracts are, the phone should no way be included in the greedy pocket lining hike, that doesnt happen anywhere else.
The price of the phone is the price of the phone regardless, that should be a set amount and able to be hiked up to pay for corrupt top level bonues, it all just adds to the fact they are taking the **bleep** out of us.

Shame! This thread is full of peeps who never read the contracts that they agreed to upon sign-up & now they bleat 😞 .

You clearly arent reading the thread or are not clever enough to digest it, everyone knows its in the contract, not a single person has disputed it on here so why certain people keep saying it is baffling.
The patronising comments are not needed, you yourself are being screwed over so why you'd stand there defending it is mind blowing, all it does is proves you simply dont understand the arguement, so why comment on it?

Hi @AJ2023
When I upgraded last year my new contract was split into two, the Plan and the handset. I therefore have two Direct Debits and only the Plan is affected by the price increase. Do you make one payment or two?
Also, my bill only reflects the Plan, the handset is treated as a separate interest free loan.

Thanks @Andy_65
No, I just have a single direct debit so I think, inflation increase is applied at entire plan (including handset) .
As they have bunlded up both handset+plan together, I did not realised it when signed up the contract last month.
Happy to pay the inflation rate on plan as it goes towards EE improvement plans and salaries etc but making money on handset seems very cheeky and I am sure, I am not alone with this issue.. many others may have fallen for the same trap ..
been with T-mobile for many years then transferred to EE few years ago, very loyal to EE and got 3 lines ... I will be very careful when it comes to renewal or won't be using EE once out of my current contract (2 more years ..) that is for sure ...

Ofcom are looking into the disgusting contracts and price hikes so thats one good thing, theres a link here:

They can obviously see what some people on here struggle with, which is that its not all about budgeting, its being recognised that these filthy rich con men are taking everyone for a ride and it shouldnt be that way.
Hopefully something will come of this, dont be put off by the contract preachers, just because its there it doesnt mean its right.

Locking into a contract should help by giving some certainty over how much they will have to pay. This is true of most consumer contracts, including fixed energy bills, mortgages and insurance premiums.
Thats another really good point, noone else gets away with this, not even the huge energy companies, a contract should give security... no these scum bags have gotten away with this far too long, its time to get some order.
If all normal people keep getting the message out there the stupid will eventually follow
Well worth a read:

I am in the same boat, moving from Vodafone to EE last week. With the price increase, the EE contract (Phone SIM, Data SIM for my car and Apple Watch), the cost is now more per month than the Vodafone was after their recent price increase. As Del Boy might have said: "Done up like a kipper". I feel there was a lot of non-disclosure by the EE shop staff, who must have known there was a price increase in the pipeline and should have advised me accordingly. The price I negotiated for the 24 month contract should be fixed for the 24 month period I am locked into. The T's and C's are wholly weighted in the service providers' favour.

I regard the recent EE price increase as pure profiteering.I will search for an alternative as soon as I'm out of contract .
