I have a problem with my router where the default gateway and DNS server is different than before. I get no Internet now and it only works when I reset it or manually set dns server on each device to 8.8.8.8
Default gateway is 172.16.11.82
And DNS servers are 87.237.17.169 and 87.237.17.201
I am not tech savy so would need a dumbed down explanation.
Thanks

The DNS are auto set by EE whenever your router re-syncs. There's no reason for it not to work with EE's DNS. You may set it to Manual & enter whichever DNS you want to use.

I went into router settings into advanced settings and set DNS to manual and put it to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
It only worked after everyone had to reconnect but everything stopped getting Internet after an hour or 2

The DNS have nowt to do with your BB connection.
What lights are showing on the router when this happens?
What does it say after you log into the router:
Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username but post the 1st 2 parts of the IP addy.
Is this for ADSL BB or Fibre? Which router, BrightBox 1 or 2 or Smart Hub?
Does the landline phone work? Do you get a dial tone? Does it announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

The smart hub colour is normal aqua blue thing which shows connected.
Landline is also fine and I get dial tone and correct number
If it helps this started happening after I failed to make a lan server and connected a different router but gave up and disconnected and reset the router.

Don't worry, your images were awaiting approval. I have now done so & they should appear soon.

You have a full speed BB connection.
What is the form of the BB username?

I may not say this correctly but I'll try
It goes PRODUCTION[5 capital letters][9 numbers]@fs

Thanks, that's how it should be.
You should be having a full speed connection to the Net.
