Concerns over iphone 12 pro order - waiting time

Okay so looking at this forum I am seeing people who ordered their iPhone 12 pros at the beginning of December and even November and still have not received them.

2 days ago I was ready to bin EE after more than a decade after being messed around, however, I finally got to speak to someone who knew what they were doing and agreed on an upgrade to an iPhone 12 pro. Well at the risk of behaving like a spoilt brat I do not want to be waiting a month  / 6 weeks plus to get a new phone. I want someone from EE to give me a genuine expected time of delivery. I stayed with EE after speaking to someone and I opted for an iPhone 12 even though it was still more expensive than some of the competitions deals despite the deal he got me. I would like someone from ee to tell me I am not going to be waiting a month, 6 weeks plus for a new phone. Its a 24-month contract and why should some of that contract be without the phone you are paying for?

Please respond with some relevant information so I can decide that it's still okay to stay with EE or not.

@rolodojo  EE can’t magically get your a device and put you to the front of the queue when other people have been waiting longer,  don’t forget what’s going on in the world right now this is having a knock-on effect on everything including parts for the iPhone.  Demand is extremely high for these devices because of part shortages and the current situation is going on in the world is having a knock-on effect onto everything.  If you want to order one do so be prepared to wait and it’s a simple as that.

hi

ordered my iPhone 12 pro 23rd December and have just got a notification from DPD saying my phone will arrive tomorrow I think its best to be on their neck and carry on calling in

Never said they could I simply want a straight answer from ee on the expected waiting time so I can make a decision. I do not expect to jump any Queues  I simply don't want to to be led down the garden path whilst I wait for mystery delivery date some point in the future when I can go right now to a competitor get the same deal cheaper and have the phone delivered within 2 days. That is not jumping Qs that is me making a choice for me based on the customer service and ability to supply a product by EE.

All I am asking id for some clarity as based on some of the forum comments here iPhone 12 pro customers seem to be left for weeks on end in limbo wondering when they will get their new phones.

Just to put you in the picture………

iPhone 12 Pro Max 512gb in grey. I’m on day 41, still no genuine update as to when it will be delivered. Last communication from ER was on Jan 1st saying “order coming soon”. I think you get the picture.

blue pro 128 on the 4th. I know that's not long ago but judging the comments on here I am just wondering If i am at the start of a 2month wait. I am not an Apple fanboy in fact this will be my first apple after years on android so I don't have the patience to wait for one as I am not that bothered.

Hi @rolodojo,

Due to limited stock availability, we are fulfilling all orders for the iPhone 12 Pro Pacific Blue 128GB on a first come first serve basis and are working with Apple to get this to you as soon as possible. We are sorry for the delay.

Nearly 2 weeks now and all I have had is an update 4 days ago saying my order is on track but no visible sign of any progress (what is the point of sending an update that's just going to frustrate a customer even more). I am wondering why I am hanging out for this when I can go to three (better coverage in my area before you say anything about that) complete my order that's on hold there for a cheaper monthly price (despite getting a "special" deal from you cancellation/upgrade team) and have the phone I want to be delivered in a matter of a few days. How is it that a Giant like EE hasn't sourced enough stock but Three who is arguably small in comparison has the stock, better coverage and better deals? I am wondering why I haven't cancelled. Is there anyone from EE that can give an answer on the likely ETA rather than just say it's up to dpd to contact me?

DPD are a cowboy outfit at the best of times even when they do get around to delivering a phone its likely they will try and deliver it to my house number in 1 of 3 streets near my home which is even funnier when they take a photo of my packages at other peoples houses as proof of delivery!

s21 is about to drop as well, As a flagship android user of 10+ years should I really be hanging out to try my first apple, I am not sure about that, I am no longer sure about EE either.

Hi @rolodojo,

As we mentioned earlier in the thread, the model you ordered is being dispatched on a first come, first serve basis as stock arrives.

If you'd prefer to switch to a model that is available for immediate dispatch, please give us a call on 150.

Thanks

James
