Hi all

I hope someone can help. Im a bit confused. I am an EE customer, and my Urus takes a sim card, which means my passengers will have wifi. It says i have to give the cars imei to EE? Is that right? Can't i just put a normal sim card in it?

@Katie1984 Is there a place to slot a SIM card in ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Yes. And i have put a sim card in. However, the advice and set up on youtube says i have to provide the cars imei number to EE? And get a car data sim? Im so confused lol....

Can't think why. You may put any SIM in any device that it fits.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

If you've got s SIM Slot then as you correctly say just put the SIM in there, no need to pass other info to EE.

One thing that you may or may not need to do is set up the APN (Access Point Name) for the correct EE Settings but most units or phones now are Self Configurable.

Try it and see.

@Katie1984  Try THIS YouTube clip. EE don’t need a IMEI number for this to work.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Again don't need to do any of that, just the SIM in and may be check APN, but as said shouldn't need to it's should all be Plug and Play these days.

Time stamp 0.35 sec... he says it as well.... i have to go to my provider with the car imei number and ask for a car data sim

..... im just wondering.... must be a reason for it..... seems too easy to do what ive done lol....must be a catch!

It's a USA Video, just put your SIM in.

Thanks all.... Will see how it goes....but so far so good just putting the sim in!
