Hi I have a tablet contract that was bought for my daughter and due to covid19 she is not allowed outside so the 20gb on the tablet isn't getting used at all. I am wanting to cancel it as I don't plan to upgrade but it will only tell me how much to upgrade early is that the same price I would pay to cancel or will it be more

Hello @meerkatsam22 ,

Welcome to the community,

How long have you had the contract, as you will have to pay it off? You cannot just cancel, you will have to ring customer service to do this, as they will have to let you know how much is left to pay.

To cancel, it will be the amount you pay per month times the number of months left on the contract minus 20%.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

The contact started 7th oct 2018 so would I have to pay the remaining months counting to oct 2020

Yes, the fee to cancel early is identical to the fee to upgrade early.

Before you make a contract they tell you it is a small penalty fee. After you sign the contract if you try to cancel because they every month over charge a fix agreement then they tell you the penalty fee it's the full amount of the full lenght of the contract.

In my experience after a year I wanted to cancel, my contract was 22 pounds a month and they charged me 40 average every month. So I wanted to cancel with 6month remaining yet so guess what, they wanted to charge me the full amount of the remaining 6month as a penalty fee..

Also they couldn't explain why I was getting over charged they gave me a discount every time I complained and the following month they over charged me double. Horrible company honestly don't join EE, rather go 3 or giffgaff or any other.

@nicorosi6 : No, you get 20% taken off that for VAT & early repayment.

@nicorosi6 I have replied to your other thread. EE is not a horrible company, never had a problem been with them when they were Orange and just started up.
