Why is my bill the same as always? I’ve finished my 2 year contract so the phone is now paid for but the amount is the same. I thought once it was paid for it would go down.

These contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. After the min. term they just carry on at the same price on a rolling month's notice basis until you explicitly cancel or upgrade.
However EE should send you a reminder that your contract will be ending 100, 60, 45 and 14 days before you go out of contract. You’II also be reminded 60 and 90 days after you go out of contract.
There is no concept of paying off the handset. You agreed to pay the same price for the full duration of the contract.

@Si47 Your contract includes the cost of the device it’s not a separate payment. You can upgrade to a sim only at a cheaper tariff price or stay as you are and after 3 months you should get a 10% discount on the cost of that tariff.

Hi @Si47
You don't have a fixed term contract that just stops at 2years, but an ongoing contract that has a minimum term of 2 years. Your monthly payment is one set amount that you agree to, this includes your allowance and cost of device - but nothing is itemised separately.
Therefore nothing changes at 2years, except your are able to ... 1: Upgrade phone if you choose, 2: Give 30days notice to disconnect if you choose, 3: Move plan to a SIM-only one if you choose.
