This appears to be a wide spread issue with the new iPhones.

I had this same problem, have not upgraded in 4 years, was waiting for a new iphone with a great camera. I went for iphone 12 pro max with "apple's best screen ever" .. Next to my iphone 7plus it looked absolute rubbish.
Also had backlight bleed.
Sent it back... not sure what to do now, whether to try my luck with a 12 pro, or just "don't believe the hype" and stick with my 7plus. 143 pages of people complaining about yellow tint on their screens... either it's intentional or a mass production fault.
Either way, I can't believe all the rave reviews that I read, and watched on youtube, did not notice this? Or were they just too excited about being sent a free phone to review that they didn't see the horrible screen quality? What's everyone else doing?

Hey!
my replacement phone arrives tomorrow - my father got one on launch day too and his is fine - roll of the dice I guess. However after having the last 4 years on too end Android devices this iPhone is stunning. Stick with it, speck to tech support and I’m sure they will sort it for you - they have been great with me

The display's themselves are manufactured and supplied by Samsung. Given the mass volume that would have been produced for the initial launch demand it's to be expected there may be some batches that have issues.
Also the 12 pro max has the best camera specs, the 12 pro isn't equipped with all the same camera tech.
I'm waiting to place my order soon, once I reach my early upgrade point and will be going for the 12 pro max. Given how supplies are looking most likely to be a 2021 delivery, but on the flip side any initial manufacturing problems are more likely to have been dealt with on future batches.

You can try to check the Night Shift or True Tone setting. This helps to fix the iPhone's yellow tone problem. If this is the true hue of your phone, then there may be a problem with the device.
