RCS on iPhone - iOS 18

Now that the iOS 18 beta is on it's 3rd iteration, and with more mobile networks enabling RCS for iPhone. I wondered whether there was any update or plan for when EE will enable RCS for iPhone on the network?

I know RCS has been available on EE for a few years now with Android, and figured they'd be fairly quick to implement it with iOS but doesn't seem to be available yet and wondered if there was a way to get it enabled or just wait for an update in the future?

RCS messaging is currently only available in the US/Canada versions of the beta.

Seeing as its a beta software, a lot of the features (including RCS) are not currently online (for the UK/EU market) but are there as placeholders to ensure that they have the correct layout and function on the software release.

Information on iOS beta software can be found here. Be mindful that the public beta for this software has just released.

Always back up your device before installing any beta profiles.

I don't want to be argumentative but it isn't just available in the US/Canada beta. Beta 3 also has it for France, Germany and Spain.

In those markets, it's not a placeholder but a functional thing.

The original post was just about anyone having info on when it might go live, not about being judgemental about beta software as people are aware it's a beta.

But just because it's a beta, doesn't mean people can't ask when features might be coming.

Correct. I was just about to point out RCS is available in some EU countries for iphones. Like you I find the repeating it’s an iOS beta, kinda mansplaining, We all know it’s a beta.

I would just await the iOS 18 release - It's likely to roll out slowly to more and more places as the betas continue.

Defo don't hold your breathe on it haha.

@Chux   And not one of you has actually read the apple developer release update notes on these betas.

  • RCS messaging is available on select carriers. (131499640)

that means on select carriers Apple have given permission  for it to be tried upon.      No carrier can  just enable this without prior approval from Apple.
So no amount of can EE enable this will get  it enabled it’s down to apple to give permission,

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

You don’t learn do you. Just walk away. No one wants you and your negativity here. Go and be a bully elsewhere.

You know nobody has read it how? Stop being condescending and try to be helpful. If you can’t? Maybe stop bashing your keyboard. I’m guessing you had read the developer notes all along? That’s why you failed to mention this until now.

I dont know why you are still scolding people. Or why you are allowed to get away with this.

The original question was if anyone had any information about WHEN it might be available. It was you that brought in lots of off topic comments about people not understanding betas in a patronising way.

It's a shame the mute button doesn't work.  I would have blocked all community stars long ago if it did.
