RCS on iPhone - iOS 18

Now that the iOS 18 beta is on it's 3rd iteration, and with more mobile networks enabling RCS for iPhone. I wondered whether there was any update or plan for when EE will enable RCS for iPhone on the network?

I know RCS has been available on EE for a few years now with Android, and figured they'd be fairly quick to implement it with iOS but doesn't seem to be available yet and wondered if there was a way to get it enabled or just wait for an update in the future?

( I have a Vodafone & 02 SIM - on iOS 18 & they not enabled RCS … ) 

BUT,

I did see LIVE MESSAGING is working - yipee. ( love that )

I have it working on my iPhone 15 pro.  Running public beta 6.

I am on EE and have two friends on Android where RCS messages are working. Both are on O2. Is RCS only working between EE and O2 at the moment?

I’ve read that EE supports RCS and the iOS 18 update should therefore be supported. Mine says “waiting for activation…”

Will we get RCS support?

RCS Messaging is only available with a valid Mobile Data or Wi-Fi connection. You can check Apple's Service Status page. 

If you're still having issues with RCS Message please go to Apple help pages for support.

Thanks @Ali_A - I just checked the phone again and it's fine today. I hadn't looked in the settings before so it's pure coincidence that it was messing about yesterday and working today. Thanks again.

RCS works great on my 16 pro max on IOS 18 but the network as to support it for it to work and also the person as to enable it. I’ve got lots of friends on android that haven’t even enabled RCS on there end. The Android friends that have enabled RCS works great between us all.

H3G is rolling out RCS support for iOS 18 starting next week (week commencing 08/12/2024). I’m sure other telcos will follow suit.

@squarecrumpets   Only just !!!   It’s been working on EE since OS 18 was released.  And beta firmware before that. 

If only you had looked at the dates of the comments.
