RCS on iPhone - iOS 18

Now that the iOS 18 beta is on it's 3rd iteration, and with more mobile networks enabling RCS for iPhone. I wondered whether there was any update or plan for when EE will enable RCS for iPhone on the network?

I know RCS has been available on EE for a few years now with Android, and figured they'd be fairly quick to implement it with iOS but doesn't seem to be available yet and wondered if there was a way to get it enabled or just wait for an update in the future?

Apple release it on beta, doesn't matter if it's dev or public. it's released and other networks are already allowing it. It got everything to do with EE. EE  will decide if its supported on public beta or only after...

@Fbatis  Actually it’s not released it’s a beta,  just because it’s a beta it doesn’t mean it’s released.  You don’t know the difference between a beta and a public release of software.    Anyone using beta software agrees to use it with all issues that betas bring and if features are not available during beta testing that doesn’t mean a network supported feature has to be enabled  just because beta testers want it,

and you don’t know how to be polite and respectful to people. Just because you’re behind a screen doesn’t mean you have to be so rude to people.

Nobody here asked you for an answer, you are not the font of all knowledge, if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.

Bully.

I think it’s time for you to tone down the way you type and stop assuming people don’t know the difference between dev beta and public… it is the second post you reply to me with this tone.

You are being incredibly condescending and rude on this thread for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Stop it.

Everybody here is aware that this is a developer beta, their point seems to just be that RCS is not some complicated exotic new feature it will take EE a long time work out how to enable support for. We just want to try a feature other networks around the world have flicked the switch to enable on iOS. “EE hasn’t enabled it yet, hopefully soon!” is all you needed to say.

@Stretch0890   Ok,  it’s not available yet and just because other networks around the world have it it doesn’t mean EE or any other network has to.  EE will probably be testing this internally.

I think EE management team must consider to enable this we are not asking for a big think like 10G, we are just asking for RCS 😉

I don’t know why you are so argumentative and rude to people.

The point of a beta is to test software. Apple have asked service providers to update their Carrier Profile so that the RCS implementation in iOS 18 can be tested on that network. Other providers are starting to do this.

To me it seems sensible to ask EE to do this (it’s an easy update to the carrier profile as the processing is done by Apple’s servers)

iOS 18 Public Beta is now out. Yes it’s up to EE when and if they turn on RCS for iphone. You’d think if they are going to activate  RCS ? The sooner the better, as it will give them time to iron out any potential bottlenecks.

I also want this feature. It’s not rocket science to enable it.
