I've upgraded my phone and told my daughter she could have my old phone which I'd had for years. It is Huawei p30lite and she already has a pay as you go SIM with another network but had broken her handset. I've tried to unlock the device using the device unlock option on the EE website but every time I enter the IMEI code I get a message saying something has gone wrong on our end please try again later. The phone has 2 IMEI numbers and I've tried both. I've also tried both SIM slots but each time I switch it on with the new SIM it asks for a code to unlock it. I've tried doing the unlock with my old SIM in the Huawei handset and still get the same error message. Can anyone help or tell me what I can do to get the code, I tried to call 150 but when you go through the menu it sends a text and I followed that and it came back to say something has gone wrong but no details about how to fix it.

Thanks for coming to the community and letting us know what you have tried so far to unlock the phone.
If the online unlock form is showing an error and the device is locked when another SIM card is used, we would need to look into this for you.
Please try calling us again on 150 and select option 2 and one of the team will be happy to help 🙂

Same problem here. Been trying to unlock my Huawei p30 pro since Saturday. Have done everything EE told me to do and it's still locked to EE. Is it possible to unlock the phone to EE at your end? Have a new provider but I'm locked in to EE!

Did you manage to get the phone unlocked? I'm in the same position. Been trying since Saturday to unlock from EE. Have done everything I've been told by EE and nothing works.

Have you tried to unlock your device online, and if so have you been sent an unlocking code from us?
What other steps have you tried so far that aren't working?

Eventually managed to get my phone unlocked but that was only because someone from your technical support emailed me with detailed instructions. Even then the instructions didn't work but trial and error this morning and I have unlocked. The process resembles nothing that's on your webs or app. Thank goodness for the tech team.
