Voicemail Deletion

I received a voicemail last night, listened to it, pressed '3' to delete but I'm still getting notifications to say I've got a message.

I've now rung my voicemail several times and it's still there.  On pressing '3' don't get "message deleted" like normal.  It's annoying me as I'm abroad and it's costing me a fortune to listen dial in just to listen to a message that is just background noise.

I've since turned off my voicemail so no-one can leave a message.

Sorry for the rant but can anyone advise what to do?

Hi @Vicki_47,

I am sorry to hear you are having an issue with a voicemail notification whilst abroad. It sounds like the notification for your voicemail may be stuck, has the phone been restarted?

If it is stuck after restarting one of our tech guides should be able to help remove the notification for you, however when this does happen whilst roaming it can resolve itself once you are back in the UK.

If you did want to give us a call to try and resolve it whilst roaming, you can call us directly from your number free using +44 (0)7953 966 150.

Alex

Thanks. However, I just tried again and it deleted this time.

Appreciate the query in this thread is now resolved, but I'm not sure the statement here that the +44 number is free to call from abroad, is always true...

https://ee.co.uk/mobile/international/roaming-contacting-us-from-abroad confirms this as being free to call within the EU, but potentially chargeable elsewhere.

@bristolian   You are right the help page is still showing as EU only, just recently as of October  we have changed it so that calls from EE mobiles to customer care will be free worldwide and not just in the EU. This should now be reflected in the landing texts customers receive as well.

So if a customer is roaming, has signal and needs to contact us, that number can be recommended as free of charge. I have sent feedback on for the website so hopefully the information will be updated soon, thanks for highlighting.

@Vicki_47 Glad to hear the voicemail issue is now resolved thanks for letting us know
