Yvm102 and Yvm105 is an issue with the EE boxes, a bug that is never fixed and requires a full reboot of the mini box to get it working again.  Usually it happens when you turn on the box after not using it for a while, but sometimes it happens whilst watching.  Having to reboot is not a good enough response if that is what EE tells you, having to go through full reboot routines every time you want to watch a TV is not something to live with.

The power or speed of your WiFi seems irrelevant from my experience.  I've had it happen to a mini box 3.5 meters direct line of sight (opposite sides of a kitchen) from an EE Smart Extender with over 100mb speeds.

The only fix for these kind of issues solved by reboot seems to be for EE to send you either a powerline adaptor (if that works on your electric circuits) or another smart extender - and using LAN instead of WiFi.  Even over LAN this error may still occur occasionally, but it is far less often.

My personal opinion is that EE should be shipping Powerline adaptors by default for this problem because it is so common until it is fixed.

Not just you mine does every other day

Seems like they still haven't found a fix 1 year later.

Thought I'd update as it has been months since EE gave I used powerline and extenders to have all EE TV boxes using lan.

The issues have decreased in regularity but not stopped entirely. My main box still craches occasionally (can't change channels or access home menu until forced reboot), and the errors on this thread still happen to mini boxes but now infrequently.

I had a bad experience with a Sagemcom recorder box many years ago, lots of crashes and errors. These EE boxes feel the same poor quality. I will be going elsewhere when my contract ends next year and be recommending friends and family against EETV.

Having moved to EE about 2 months ago, in the last two weeks I have started to get the YVM102 error every day. I need to reboot the router and my EE TV Pro box before I can watch. The system then works fine until overnight. When it seems to fail again.

I’m using a WiFi signal but have a good signal and no other devices in the room have a problem.

Not impressed.

Good afternoon @Mikedevs.

Welcome to the EE Community!

If possible, can you try using a wired connection to your EE TV box, and see if this gives the same connections?

As others on this thread have mentioned, Powerlines can be a good alternative if the wireless signal isn't providing a stable connection.

Peter

Thanks for the response. Will try that, although I noticed people with wired connections also saw this problem Will need to source power line adapter as there are no decent wiring routes. The distance is only 3m and the signal strength is good.

However I also noticed, from the router manager screen that the time the connection was lost corresponds to the start of the daily “Deep sleep”, the connection then did not re-establish. I have turned that option and will see if this works first.

Thanks again, Mike

Thanks for this observation @Mikedevs

Please keep up updated with how you get on once the Deep Sleep option has been turned off
