You can't skip the ads if your watching ITV live via an aerial.

What you have to do is record the programme via the aerial feed and then watch the recording, not the live feed. THEN you can easily skip through the ads using the fast forward control on your remote.

This remains a real advantage of using an aerial, and I can't understand the current total enthusiasm for using a broadband feed to watch or record TV. Broadband has its place if you want to watch catchup to see a programme you missed live or forgot to record, but for normal use, give me an aerial every time!
