Using an EE TV Box Mini for Freeview Channels Only

Hi

I am moving my broadband from BT to EE and the service will go live on 12 Apr. I have a question about EE TV. If I buy an EE TV Box Mini on eBay for example, will I be able to use this to watch live Freeview channels only without any EE TV package subscriptions? Thanks in advance 👍🏻

Afraid not.

The mini boxes are WiFi only and therefore need an EE TV subscription to deliver live TV channels.

@euoi  will your TV not  just do this ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I don't have a TV aerial on the roof of the house, so I have to use separate apps BBC, ITV Player etc to watch live TV. I wondered if EE TV box would enable me to do everything in one place without the need for separate apps (and possibly also more free to view channels).

Do some research on what other competitors offer for a one off additional fee, that's all I'm saying

EE Apple TV box, EE mini box, Full Fibre 900, Sky Stream

Have you seen the new "Freely" TVs that are made for folk without an aerial. They have launched recently with some basic features but according to reports they will likely expand the services they deliver over the coming months.

Keep your Freeview box and connect it to hdmi2.

Had same issue initially. Now have EE TV on HDMI-1 and Freeview on HDMI-2.

Or connect EE TV wirelessly and keep your Freeview box connected as before.

I think you've misunderstood the discussion @fwoollard ? It's not about lack of HDMI or network ports - it's about trying to use a TV Box Mini on a broadband connection that doesn't have an EE TV subscription.
