Hi, I was just wondering why Atalanta v **bleep**nal in the UCL is not being broadcast in UHD or is it just select matches this season due to the share with Amazon Prime? I know this isn’t directly a Forum for TNT but don’t know who to contact as I have TV with EE and can’t find a TNT sports email address to get in touch with there broadcasting team.

Hi @DallenServices

LOL at the censor.

It is not UHD on the discovery app. I assume it is becase the TV feed is not licenced for UHD from the champions league. It does seem strange and a bit disappointing.

Thanks

It’s usually only when the English teams are at home in the UCL that the games are UHD.

I’m not that bothered anyway as TNT UHD is one of the worst 4K broadcasts I’ve ever seen.

UEFA will set the standards that host broadcasters need to meet for the feeds . That will normally be HD but some host broadcasters will also have UHD streams that they produce for their local audience. Whether TNT Sports consider the extra costs and any technical issues in taking a second UHD feed in addition to the standard HD feed worthwhile is debatable. So typically these days  TNT Sports would cover one of the “home” UCL games on the Ultimate channel  in UHD and remaining games be HD.
