Recordings ending early

I have changed to a new EE Pro from a previous BT box and the old box used to allow recordings to start a wee bit earlier and finish 5/10 after the show but the new box doesn’t allow that option on settings that I can see and I keep losing the ending to shows, the website suggests recording the next program after my scheduled program but the function to extend recording  by 5/10 mins was easier

The BT/EE TV box hasn't allowed recordings to be padded (i.e. started/ended early) since 2012 when YouView launched. Moving to EE TV hasn't changed that.

The TV Box will always start and end recordings according to the signal that the channel sends, which should be exact.

I'm afraid there are no plans to add the option for padding. The onus remains on broadcasters to send correct signals.

Hi I've recently moved to EE TV & have the same problem as Heather

If as you say it's the programmers to blame for nit sending correct information, then why did this not occur when I was with both BT - SKY?

BT and EE are the same.  You'll get the same recording behaviour on either.

I can't comment on Sky.

You missed my point. I never experienced this at any time during my period with BT & I presume they receive same program info as EE

You haven't solved my problem

Hi Heather

I have same problem on every recording since I joined EE TV

Did you ever get a solution?

EE tech consultant hasn't really helped

What I'm saying is that if you were still with BT now, that same recording would still have failed in the same way.

Unfortunately there is no solution to this.

I am amazed that you're telling me it's the Broadcasters fault & you have no solution

This is happening on every recording regardless of channel so you're effectively saying Every Broadcaster is getting it wrong. Unbelievable!

Guess this is not a contract that I will be renewing.

Unfortunately this is just how it's been since 2012 when YouView launched, and there aren't any plans to change it.  It doesn't affect all broadcasters, or even all programmes - but clearly it's affecting the programmes you watch the most.  I can only apologise, and say there's nothing we can do about it.
