I have changed to a new EE Pro from a previous BT box and the old box used to allow recordings to start a wee bit earlier and finish 5/10 after the show but the new box doesn’t allow that option on settings that I can see and I keep losing the ending to shows, the website suggests recording the next program after my scheduled program but the function to extend recording by 5/10 mins was easier

We have The Dog House Australia set to record each episode, each day on More4 at 16.50 to 17.50. We never find out if the third adopters keep their dog as the recording stops.
I could be dreaming but am sure there was an option to add a few minutes buffer on our old BT recorder.

Additionally, even if we watch the whole episode again on catch-up through the guide it'll stop at the same point. 🥴

Then this is a problem with how the broadcaster is presenting the programme on the Channel Four app, and something you should take up with the broadcaster.
Even padding wouldn’t get you the end of the programme, if the broadcaster is not actually broadcasting it 😢

I'm new to EE and this keeps happening on my F1 and other recordings , never had any problems with Sky as it always added extra buffer on time , it's so annoying

Apparently it’s down to the broadcaster that sends the signal to the box. The only workaround is get the EE box to record the following programme, that way if an overrun occurs you should get the remaining part.
Because I’m an F1 fan myself, but I use the highlights as I can’t afford the full package which would include Sky F1.

I have exactly the same problem and it’s only been a problem since I switched to EE from Sky last year. It never happened with Sky.

Darren Dev i’m sorry, but I think you’re wrong because I’ve just come over from sky with their sports package and they’re streaming box and Ted‘s notebook is notorious for starting late because the Formula One program over run and and Ted‘s notebook was always recorded
