Hi all, hopefully someone can advise me before I arrange to get my elderly Dad onto EE TV (away from Sky!!)
If I don’t get his ariel fixed and just choose to go with the free to view channels in internet mode, is GB News available yet? I know that Freely was updating their channels recently so that GB News would be offered, but wasn’t sure if EE TV have their own free to view channel list in IP mode.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Here’s the list of channels you can get:-

GB News isn’t on it, but the box does have the GB News app and one of the options is Live, so hopefully that should cover it.

Ah, didn't realise there was a dedicated app for GB News. Well that's an option i reckon, cheers.
I know i'd much rather him go IP mode than ariel mode due to many of "his" channels being in HD (ITV2, BBC News etc..) but i noticed that GB News was missing from the list entirely and only obtained via the old ariel route (along with a ton of other channels in SD which nobody watches).
Thankyou for your reply 🙂

Freely TVs have GB News as one of their IP channels now so god knows why it hasn't made it to EE yet

Indeed. I wrongly assumed that all IPs that bring free to air channels would all use the same available feeds, so it does surprise me that the channel list through internet mode would not show GB News yet. As we're going to be new to the EE TV box in the coming weeks, i don't know either how often in the past the channel list changes.

@markb1313 unfortunately it hasn't since 2022. BT/EE have just left the free to air channels in IP mode without any additions, only reducing them when they are no longer available eg CITV

Cheers for the heads up @Weerab2024, that's disappointing to hear.

Maybe it might change in the future, no one will know till or if it happens
