So now tv have introduced a boost option to add 4k channels and on demand. It’s called ultra boost.
when will ee tv Apple TV users etc be able to receive this?

Thanks Darren. I will wait and see (at least until the start of the season) to see if it gets added with EE first, as having everything in 1 place is the ideal outcome.

Would Ultra Boost also work on the EE TV Box Pro?
Thanks, Steve
It doesn't currently, they are going to work on it, no ETA.

IF they can support it.
We all know the Apple TV can, but there is a long list of devices that happily stream UHD HDR from multiple apps all day long that are not currently compatible with Ultra Boost.
You also have to ask the question, why would Sky allow EE to enable live UHD HDR channels that can be recorded on their platform, when only Sky Q, a legacy platform that is closing, is the only device they offer that can?
If I was a betting man I would say they will only ever come to the EE Apple TV and the Pro Box will remain as HD only.

You'd lose that bet @Profile closed - it is coming to the EE TV Box Pro and EE TV Box Mini, but needs some updates from YouView first to support it.

No details are currently available for the Ultra Boost subscription on EE TV - they'll be announced when they're ready.

This is why I don’t gamble!
IP delivered UHD HDR Sky Sports that is recordable is a really, really important USP, try and make sure EE actually market it properly!
Depending on deals, it might even convince me to stay and I could finally dump Sky Q. Sorry about that. 🤣
Assuming on demand via the on board NOW app would also be able to handle UHD HDR?

@DarrenDev wrote:Correct @BenJones90 - if you drop the Now Sports channels from your EE TV package then you'll lose the ability to watch them in the EE TV app or from the TV Guide on an EE TV Box, but you'll gain the ability to see the UHD channel in the Now TV app on Apple TV.
Is that shorthand for ‘drop the Now Sports channels and any other Now channels you may have, and resubscribe to Now directly, remembering to add Ultra Boost to the membership(s) you take….(etc.)’ or something cleverer?

It’s been confirmed it won’t be an option for the start of the premier league, so dropping the now packages from your BT/EE is clearly the way to go, at least in the short term

Is it not possible to just drop the boost and add it separately through Now TV?
