New Broadband & TV Customer

Hi all,

Hoping everyone is well.

I've just made the switch from SKY to EE Broadband & TV (Entertainment Package). However, being a loyal customer to SKY for over 24 years, I'm a little concerned about reliability etc. I can honestly say I've not had any issues with SKY apart from their over inflated prices!

My questions are (for now):

How does everyone find EE - I've opted for the 300 Full Fibre package and work from home 2 days a week. There's only 2 adults in the household and, we occasionally have another 2-3 family members stay over on weekends.

How did anyone find the switch from SKY to EE as regards their TV package? I can see it includes NOW and is this easy to set-up etc. and, are the channels similar to SKY? (Discovery, Gold, U&Yesterday etc.).

I have an indoor aerial which is connected to my Samsung 55TV only (Freeview). I believe the EE TV Box Pro offers an aerial or IP connection and I'll be using IP for HD and Dolby sound quality. Is the set-up process of the TV Box/NOW TV relatively easy or?

Apologies to bombard you with questions and no doubt you'll probably be hearing from me again - thank you.

Kind Regards

Jsmith5129

  1. EE Full Fibre is fine. More than enough for 2-person household with normal usage.

@Jsmith5129  Out of interest what influenced you to opt for the EETV Box Pro  over the EETV Apple TV as your main EETV  box ?

The EE channel offering is different and a list of the available channels are below.

https://ee.co.uk/help/tv-sport/ee-tv-channel-guide

New customers don't have the Discovery channel as this is not offered by Now TV.  This used to be offered to customers previously but after Now with HBO became available any new customers lost access to Discovery plus and the Discovery channel although you can subscribe within the app at an additional charge and get the IP channel streams that way.

Even though the U free to air channels aren't available in IP mode, because you have a Samsung TV, I believe at some point you will have access to the IP streams of those channels through your Samsung TV plus at some point this year.

Apparently the EE TV packages are getting refreshed at some point this year so the channels may differ after that point but nothing is confirmed with EE until it goes live.

Only because Apple TV is a premium streaming device with no recording capabilities.

Thank you, that's very helpful 😊
