Press release here: https://newsroom.ee.co.uk/ee-and-sky-extend-strategic-partnership-to-bring-sky-stream-to-ee-customer...

If you can’t beat them…

EE, lead consumer brand for the BT Group, and Sky today announce a new retail partnership that will see Sky Stream launch across EE stores, via the EE website and EE telesales from Tuesday 15th October.

The partnership builds on a longstanding relationship since 2017 and forms part of EE’s strategy to partner with leading consumer electronics and entertainment providers to offer customers a wide range of options. It will allow customers to order Sky TV products with EE’s home broadband. It also forms part of Sky’s strategy to provide the best entertainment experience and the UK’s most talked-about TV to every home.

Introducing Sky Stream will enhance the EE TV portfolio, giving customers a choice of viewing platform. Sky Stream will be available to purchase from EE both with EE home broadband and mobile.

Thanks @Profile closed that makes sense and something to look forward to.

It also makes financial and strategic sense that Comcast consolidate their apps when paramount and WBD are doing the same with Paramount/Pluto and Discovery Plus/Max respectively.

Again, something I didn't know @Profile closed - it's under NDA internally.  I've just been told some stuff, but the key bit of information is that EE TV customers shouldn't be affected - there are currently no changes planned for the service we offer.

Another gem shared on AV Forums 🤣

To be fair, one of the UK NOW app devs is on there talking about the actual trial being no secret, even if other bits related to it are, and how they are separate teams, so no changes in the UK for a while.

Think he models himself on you @DarrenDev 👍🏻

It says on reddit it should happen in 2025, so watch this space I guess!

Hi all, as the proposition manager of this change I just wanted to put to bed any rumours about the future of EE TV.

This launch is an extension of our existing partnership with Sky which already sees us provide NOW content to EE TV customers via our YouView and Apple TV 4K devices. Extending the partnership to offer Sky Stream is the perfect way to strengthen our TV from EE portfolio and gives customers an even greater choice of hardware, and the best content, to suit their viewing needs.

Rest assured nothing will change for our much-loved EE TV product. EE TV will continue to be available via our Box Pro and Box Mini YouView devices or via EE TV App on Apple TV 4K. Launched only last year, EE TV will remain an important part of our product line-up as our own flagship TV service. We will continue to optimise and improve the service, as we have done recently by adding YouTube access to our Box Pro and Box Mini devices, and we have more exciting content improvement and user improvements planned for customers in the future.

Thanks for the confirmation @MattEE94

I think most customers would agree that more free to air IP channels would be greatly welcomed if possible, as since the IP free to air channels were introduced a couple of years ago, more have been made available via other services, which are included as channels in Freeview.
