Press release here: https://newsroom.ee.co.uk/ee-and-sky-extend-strategic-partnership-to-bring-sky-stream-to-ee-customer...
If you can’t beat them…
EE, lead consumer brand for the BT Group, and Sky today announce a new retail partnership that will see Sky Stream launch across EE stores, via the EE website and EE telesales from Tuesday 15th October.
The partnership builds on a longstanding relationship since 2017 and forms part of EE’s strategy to partner with leading consumer electronics and entertainment providers to offer customers a wide range of options. It will allow customers to order Sky TV products with EE’s home broadband. It also forms part of Sky’s strategy to provide the best entertainment experience and the UK’s most talked-about TV to every home.
Introducing Sky Stream will enhance the EE TV portfolio, giving customers a choice of viewing platform. Sky Stream will be available to purchase from EE both with EE home broadband and mobile.

Stream will either set a cloud recording, link to an app or pull the video file directly from the app such as Discovery+ etc. it works very well..

What a mess!
Just as you think EE are being innovative with Apple TV and the rebrand from BT TV to EE TV they’re now selling Sky Stream along side their own TV service.
It leads me to think EE TV is a brand that lacks direction. This move concerns me that my relative new 24 month TV contact will remain the same with no new features or channels, as EE aren’t bothered and would rather take some small commission from Sky.
Massive win for Sky btw.

@Fuseonic I've just spoken to the product team, and they tell me that the bug that prevented migration from legacy EE to new EE is now fixed. There should be nothing to stop you moving to the new products now.

Thanks @DarrenDev, when the 1/2 price EE TV offer next runs I'll try phoning to upgrade.

Will I ever be able to get Sky sream on the same TV box witch is on EE TV?

That would be dependant on Sky making the Stream OS available as a standalone app which seeing as though the Stream Pucks are being used worldwide by various Comcast companies for their streaming platform, it's unlikely.

Let's wait and see what happens after stream is launched through EE.
I think it will be interesting to see if there are any changes to existing subscription channels via Now on YouView or EE Apple TV after then, whether they are swapped for Sky ip streams or not.
I already have sky stream in my living room. If nothing changes before my contract expires, il just get a sky puck from my existing sky contract I think.

Only my views,
On EETV the IP delivered subscription channels in the EPG are those that are included with the (Sky) Now product plus channels that WBD provide , the Ip FreetoAir channels in the EPG are those that EETV (BT) have agreements with the individual broadcasters.
So if the (Sky) Now product adds or loses live channels or content , the corresponding channel(s) / content should appear or disappear on Now subscriptions billed by EETV .That would normally be expected to occur at the same time as those channels launch on Now but there is a caveat that not all devices offer the full range of features.
WBD seem keen to promote it's discovery + streaming rather than linear channels. That said discovery + itself has been superceded by Max in most of the WBD European markets. That leads to a while wraft of speculation about where HBO content ends up in the future.
As fans of the Freeview U channels and Talking Pictures channels are only too aware there has been no sign of them yet being added to the EE TV FreetoAir Ip channel list which rather disappointingly seems fairly static

It worked before the Now agreement for IP streams direct from Sky if I remember rightly.
The Discovery plus app offers alot of their linear channels as direct streams as well, so they seem to be still interested in linear channels to an extent.
The American Now TV offers way more channels than the UK version as well.
My personal view is that Comcast may decide to ditch Now and change to it a mix of their Peacock and Xumo app and roll that out. That's what makes sense in my head as its pointless having numerous apps doing the same thing, and the xumo play as a free app is now available on Sky stream too.
They could have FAST and subscription variants.

Trials are already underway to move NOW to the same platform as Peacock, which is ironic because Peacock was originally based on NOW.
This isn’t a secret in the sense that they have been quite open in asking for trialists and sharing up front why. I suspect the nuts and bolts of it should be under an NDA but someone on Reddit doesn’t seem to understand what that means… 🤣
