I'm interested in signing up for the new EE TV. I already have Apple TVs in my household, so I'd only really want access to the TV app itself - I wouldn't need apple TV 4k boxes from EE. Is this possible to order?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

You're seeing the upgrade options on bt.com I assume? To get an Apple TV with EE TV, you'd need to move your package to "New EE" (broadband included). I'm on holiday at the moment so don't know if they got all the upgrade bugs resolved before the Xmas break. If not, then you should be able to move across to EE in early 2024.

I've just latched on to this old thread to ask if anything has changed?
I have EE broadband, considering EE TV but I'd want to use my existing Apple TV 4k box.
Is that still a no no? Could I sign up for the EE mini box, but use the Apple box instead?

Still a no @RG999 and is unlikely to ever change. Most of the channels will be hidden from your existing Apple TV.

OK, many thanks for the reply. I'll delete that as an option then.

Could I come back with an extra question?
If I did at some time subscribe to EE TV with your own Apple 4k, would I have to use the EE modem? l have my own modem/router connected directly to the ONT.

No. The Apple TV doesn't use multicast, so will work with any router without issue. The only reason you'd need to use the EE router is if you wanted a phone line (digital voice).

Thanks Darren. I'll bear than in mind.

Over 7 months later and we're still getting the 'technical error' page! I am completely unable to see any TV pricing on the EE website. It doesn't bode well for the service.

@scgf Are you at present on legacy broadband? You can not add EE TV to legacy broadband and at present you can not upgrade to New EE broadband. This will be possible but not just yet.

You can view prices when NOT logged in. It's not possible to upgrade online at the moment, and it's not likely to be possible for at least another couple of months - you need to call.
If you're on legacy broadband then you can't update unless you're either out of contract, or within the last 90 days of your contract.
