EE for Apple TV existing owner

I'm interested in signing up for the new EE TV. I already have Apple TVs in my household, so I'd only really want access to the TV app itself - I wouldn't need apple TV 4k boxes from EE. Is this possible to order?

Afraid not @norwoody - our content providers require that we only offer their channels on hardware that is provided as part of the subscription (which also needs to be returned when the subscription ends).  Any attempt to use an Apple TV from any other source will reduce the app to only offering the same channels as the mobile apps.

@norwoody   The deal to have this includes the purchase of an Apple TV.     You don’t get the bit you want without having the whole package that allow you to hove those bits.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Install the app and see what happens - it's available on the store.    I tried logging in but didn't get far as I don't have a broadband account, only mobile.   If you don't have an Apple TV you can still give it a shot, go to settings on your iPhone and look in TV Providers.    EE will be there - try logging in.

A bit less snark would be appreciated @Chris_B , it doesn't sound like you 100% know the answer yourself. Good manners doesn't cost a penny, but thanks for your advice nevertheless.

Appreciate the answer @DarrenDev . I don't currently have an EE TV account of any sort (only broadband) so I can't check this myself yet, but are Freeview channels available to view at least? Or better yet, is there anywhere that details what can be viewed in the mobile app / non EE Apple TV vs what's offered by the new package?

Thanks

It doesn't include the 'purchase' of an Apple TV 4K box. All hardware is loaned to the customer for the duration of their contract and must be returned to EE at the end of it.

Afraid not - only TNT Sports 1-10, Eurosport 1&2, and discovery are currently available.

@fizzgig   Ok I’ll put it like this.   You don’t get what you’ve not taken out.   So in other words unless you take out a subscription that includes the Apple TV you not going to get it.   Having your own Apple TV is irrelevant as it’s not part of the subscription you’ve got with EE.

@norwoody    Sorry if you didn’t don’t like my answer I thought I was straight to the point.    Unless you have a subscription to the service your not going to get it even if you have your own hardware that can support that service.

Oh I know that. I was merely correcting your point. You're not 'purchasing' an Apple TV 4K box from EE, you're purchasing a streaming TV service which includes the loan of an Apple TV 4K box with an EE branded remote.

I've no intention of taking out the EE TV service. It's hugely over-priced amongst many other things. I already own two Apple TV 4K boxes which provide me with all the TV I need using an alternative (and much cheaper) full fibre broadband service.
