EE TV Box Pro VS Apple 4K Box

HI

I am soon going to take up EE Broadband with EE TV

I am aware I can choose either the EE TV Box Pro OR the Apple 4K Box. I have watched some YouTube videos on them both to try and give me the best understanding, I am still undecided on which to choose though. Can anybody please help me distuingish the differences?

I know the main difference is that you can record on the EE TV Box Pro but you cannot record on the Apple 4K Box, If I decide recording is not so important to me, what other factors are there?

Which box is the most powerful hardware that will give me best performance switching through apps etc, best viewing / sound quality and least problems etc etc

Please go all out on the differences, pros and cons of both

Thank you

@Customer_404 we wanted to make it available as soon as possible, so you've got the manual solution for now.  We're working on the automatic solution now, so that it picks up surround sound without you needing to do anything.

Off topic but saves me starting a new thread, cancelled my sky stream which finishes on the 23rd. This is why I'm coming to EE soon.

Stream contract officially ends in March, she on the phone wasn't sure if I'd be getting early termination charges or not, she said if I was going to be charged any early termination charges that I'd be sent them shortly after that phone call with her. It's now been 11-12 days since I cancelled and still no email or letter with any fees. My final bill on the website hasn't changed either.

It states on their website that any early termination charges are sent between 3-5 days after the initial cancellation phone call.

I know this is EE and not Sky but I don't want to go asking on them incase it nudges them to charge me ha, what do you think? Have I had a lucky escape or should I not get my hopes up yet.

I've been anxiously checking my billing account every day

@DStructUK

You won’t get any cancellation charges, no matter how long your contract on Stream or Glass runs for due to a recent legislation change that means all streaming “contracts” can only be 31 days maximum in law.

All signing an 18 month contract with Sky does is lock in a discount, you can leave without penalty at any time with 31 days notice. This does not apply to Q.

I haven’t seen anyone test this with EE yet, but there are plenty of posts on this elsewhere such as AV Forums.

😱 Ooo I sure do hope that that’s 100% true 🤞🙏

I’ve found this:-

https://www.burges-salmon.com/news-and-insight/legal-updates/commercial/subscription-contracts-new-measures-to-protect-consumers

but nothing about 31 days, and nor is there any mention of 31 days in the Act itself, that I can find, if this is the Act in question,

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2024/13/enacted

Can you give a citation I can follow up on?

@Midnight_Voice

Nope, I haven’t seen the precise legislation or bill personally.

I think someone was being a bit optimistic then 😢

Anybody else come across this?

Not sure what’s optimistic about providing information on what is happening and has been for some time?

Ah, I wasn’t accusing you of being too optimistic, just the reports you had read.

And what’s optimistic of them was hoping there was a new 31 day rule; which, if there is, certainly isn’t in the Act I cited above 😢

Gotcha.

I think the 31 days is just the standard Sky notice period, not a blanket law.
