EE TV Box Mini - No Channels Working

Cyprinus

Hi,

Just switched over to EE TV Boxes from BT TV Boxes from 5th Nov 2024.

Plugged in Mini box ran through setup ok, channel guide appears and NO channels are working - Error message IPC6023. Plugged in Pro box with just Ethernet and no channels working - Error code YVM302. Plug in Aerial cable to Pro box and all channels working. Why do i have to have aerial cable plugged in?

Why does Mini box not work at all?

EETV have messed up your configuration; the Box Mini demands Multicast for all the live channels, and IPC6023 means Multicast isn’t working. You will need to ring EETV to get this diagnosed and fixed.

The Box Mini only works in IP Mode - no aerial, and even the Freeview channels come over the internet. Or would, if not for the above.

The Box Pro, if plugged in without an aerial, also works in IP Mode, or would if your Multicast was working, which it isn’t.

With an aerial plugged in though, it works in Aerial Mode, and the Freeview channels come over the aerial. Or would if your aerial signal was strong enough, which YVM302 says it isn’t.

Your choice if you wait for your multicast issue to be fixed, and run the Box Pro in IP Mode, or get an aerial fitter in to improve your aerial signal.

Until the multicast is fixed though, you won’t get the IP channels above 300 on the Box Pro, whatever you do.

@Midnight_Voice

Thanks for your reply. I'll get onto them and have a chat. BT TV & EE TV both have been very challenging at times.

I declined to switch from BT to EE, when offered a discount for doing so when I took an EE sim, precisely because I had no confidence that they wouldn’t bugger up my account when doing so.

Nothing I see on here convinces me otherwise, though of course those who make a smooth transition rarely post to say so. And indeed, nor should they be expected to; it should be the norm.
