Can't get HD Channels After moving from BT :(

Hey!

I was with BT for years. Had HD sports etc with a you view box. rang up to renew last week and got moved to EE on a 24 month contract. All good.

Got the new tv boxes etc. However, it turns out because my internet (through the same BT hub) is 16 MBS they won't offer me any HD channels. Couldn't quite believe it, after having sky sports and bt sports with HD for years with same speed Internet and same router.

I rang up a second time to to validate. And yes they won't offer me HD. So I had to cancel! Really didn't want to cancel, and not sure who I'm going to go with now. But all seems a bit mad.

Was there any way round this? Is this some new policy?

Thanks for your help. Sad to be leaving.

It has been the policy for many years.  You'd still have access to HD in the discovery+ app (including TNT Sports), but I'm afraid there's no option to order HD across all channels with that broadband speed.

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

That's why I'm questioning the BB speed 😉 .

So I had HD on my BT account because I set it up before it became a policy? I should have just left my BT contract rolling 😔

They should alert you of this when signing up for EE really. Especially as the EE guy when I signed up said to set up HD I'd have to call back after it had been set up to activate it. He probably knew it wouldn't be possible. Ah well.

Thanks for the advice,

OK, thanks. You're on the slowest Fibre (FTTC) package possible & can't go any higher.

I spoke to BT they said that what you have on bt  will be the same on EE including Alexa.

Rubbish all lies . EE don't have Alexa. EE costs more.

just lost all the ringtones.

I might find another provider. EE has nothing to offer its just as plain as plain as it gets

. All features are disappearing

 Unless EE improve on everything.
