My signal was poor on the bbc and itv HD channels. So I retuned them and they have completely disappeared. I pay for HD channels and believe these should be part of the package. Does anyone else have this issue?

Even though you may be paying for a HD boost, if your using a pro box in aerial mode there's nothing that EE can do about a poor Freeview signal in your area, as channel 4 or 5 are free to air channels.
You can either reset the pro box to IP mode or continue with your fluctuating signal issues.
You will loose out on some channels in IP mode though.

C4 and C5 HD channels
This is fun.

Retuned them how, and on what?
Unless you are running your mystery device in IP Mode, you are subject to the vagaries of Freeview.
What happens if you try to watch these channels direct on your TV?

I have had my new fibre connection and EE TV box for just over a month. Once nearly all channels (except for 20) vanished and came back when I re-tuned.
In last 5 days 5star channel has gone twice? This cannot be due to a poor signal as I previously had a BT Youview box for years and never had this problem. I cannot use the record facility as there is no guarantee that the channel will be there when I have set the box to record?

Well, if you don’t try to record it, you certainly won’t get it 😛
But if it is missing when your box comes to record, it will pick it up the next chance it gets if it appears on any of the 5 group of channels.
Which improves the odds in your favour. And to rewrite a famous line from Casablanca, “We’ll always have catch-up”…

Could EE create a function to re-tune the box automatically every day?
This would allow me to use the box to record tv programs which is my biggest issue with EE.
I started to keep a record of all the failures; but gave up. Recently went on holiday and set the box to record 4 or 5 shows. When I came back not one of them had recorded. I had lost 95 channels. Channel 103 (ITV HD) had a signal strength of 38% and quality of 0%? I had the ITV series ‘the chase’ set to record. I had 4 episodes already recorded. I checked that the red light came on at the correct time to indicate that it was recording. The next day I had NO episodes. Not only had they been deleted, the series was no longer set as being recorded?
Some days I look at the my tv screen showing all the recordings and every one displays the ‘failed to record’ message.
2 weeks ago the remote stopped working. I ‘re-paired’ it but it made no difference. I could use the remote to change the volume, mute it and switch it on and off but Nothing else. I reported this and was told that I would get a new remote the next day. It came second class 5 days later!
From 7 months ago when I got my 'new' box. I did not have these problems with my BT youview box.
19th February All but 20 tv channels vanished? I had to retune to get them back?
21st February Recorded a tv program (having missed first 15 minutes). The recording was 44 minutes long but would not play a single second? I had to delete it. My wife notices that ITVX stops working. She has to stop it, back out and then restart from where she left off. I believe that this is deliberate as she then has to endure yet another set of adverts before starting the recording and then more before resuming from where it stopped working.
Around 10th March channel 32 vanishes. Found out because a recording failed. Retuned to bring it back and reset the recording. 2 days later it vanished again, so retuned and recorded again. I can watch channel 32 on the ‘old style’ tv.
14th March A recording of a series on ITV1 has vanished? ITV1 had not gone, just the recording. I had to set it to record the series again?
15th March A recording of a series on BBC1 has vanished? BBC1 had not gone, just the recording. I had to set it to record the series again?
16th March The remote stopped working? The box no longer recognises the remote. I cannot do anything? I tried putting in new batteries. I resorted to pulling the power cable from the back of the box and re-connecting. Remote now works?
21st March A repeat of the 14th. A recording of the same series on ITV1 has vanished? Had to set it to record the series again?
24th March A recording of a series on E4 did not record and has vanished? Had to set it to record the series again? This time, channel 13 (E4) had also vanished. Had to first retune to bring it back before re-setting up the recording.
25th March Pressing fast forward when playing a recording and it went backwards? Tried it twice and it would not go forwards? Came out of the programme, went back in and it now works?
27th March A repeat of 16th. The remote stopped working? The box no longer recognises the remote? The box is working because a red light is on meaning that it is recording something, but I cannot do anything? I Resorted to pulling the power cable from the back of the box (ending the recording) and re-connecting. Remote now works?
28th March started watching a recording and it ended half-way through; however I cannot say for certain that it wasn’t the recording that was stopped on the 27th.
1st April I wanted to watch a recorded series. Did not notice how many episodes; but it displayed the message ‘failed to record’. I opened the series and it came straight out and the series had vanished from the screen! It had moved to the next page and no longer displayed the error message.
2nd April A repeat of yesterday. Wanted to watch an episode from a series that I have been recording. It said that there were 3 episodes; but it displayed the message ‘failed to record’. I opened the series and it came straight out and the series had vanished from the screen! It had moved to the next page and now said that there was 1 less episode and the message was gone and I was able to watch the 2 episodes left?
Lost interest in keeping track of all of the faults. Not sure it is EE now as I have found out the government is allowing mobile phone and satellite channels to ‘use’ tv broadcast channels creating interference which is maybe why I am losing channels every week.
18th April Was watching a recording and could only see a third of the screen clearly? The status bar showing elapsed time and time left and next episodes would not go away and the upper screen was darkened. Had to stop the recording, switch off and on to stop it?
23rd April A series being recorded on channel 32 failed. Checked and there was no channel 32. Had to retune to bring it back. Box was still recording the series but was now missing one episode.
