My signal was poor on the bbc and itv HD channels. So I retuned them and they have completely disappeared. I pay for HD channels and believe these should be part of the package. Does anyone else have this issue?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Doubt if this is much use to you but just trying to be helpful @davefowkes .
Just wondering if you (as you should do) have the FIRST connection of your TV Aerial into your Youview Box and then out of there into your "ordinary" TV and not the other way around.
Probably a simplistic answer that you already have correct, but just in case!
However DarrenDev is THE MAN - do anything he suggests.
Good Luck, Graham

There is nothing wrong with the signal. If I connect the tv straight to the aerial all channels are available and 100% signal quality. I live too close to 'different' transmitters and the box 'thinks' it knows better. I have solved half of the problem by removing the EE box and re-using the 'old' BT Youview box (which I still have because it took 3 months to sort out the fibre connection). I have lost all recordings and have last years instead; but I now have over 170 channels and the ones I watch over 90% quality. EE are sending me a new box. So I can watch tv. HOWEVER there is a problem that BOTH boxes have and I had not appreciated it before as it is my wife that records and watches programmes through the box. When I went on holiday a couple of months ago and none of my recordings worked I assumed it was because the channels had been lost at the time of the recording. I now know the issue. The box uses the guide to decide when to record. For example last night at 10 I had 2 scheduled recordings for News at 10 on ITV and Big Brother on 6 (this is an example, I cannot remember the 'real' programmes). MY TV showed that they were scheduled. I was able to watch them and checked that the signal quality for both was 100%. Neither recorded! The reason was that the info button, the guide, and the whats on now 'ribbon' all said that THIS morning was being shown on 3 and Olivia somebody on 6. So the boxes WONT record until the guide says that the programmes have started. (I say boxes because I have now seen this on the EE pro box and the BT Youview box)?
