I have seen the question / query on here already but was wondering if there is any update to when EE will offer their 1.6 Gbps with TV. I have read an article that the delay for EE might be because they have a new WiFi 7 router coming and this might be linked to the delay in being able to get 1.6 with TV.
I am due to renew my BT contract next month and have been shopping around but am leaning towards the EE 1.6 Service. But without TV I am then looking to sign up for a TV only service with another provider. If EE TV is coming in the future I dont want to do that as then I am locked in on that contract.
I assume that if I moved to EE 900 Mbps I would be able to upgrade to 1.6 Gbps- when TV is available with this. But would this incur any one off costs for me (Not monthly contract price change) / give me the new router if available?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

The delay isn't specifically for the new router - it's the new ordering system that 1.6Gbps broadband is ordered via, which doesn't currently support orders for EE TV. I cannot give an idea of when this will be ready.
You could order the 900Mbps service (on the old ordering system) which will allow you to add EE TV, and then upgrade your speed when the system is ready - there wouldn't usually be a cost associated with this (other than the monthly increase), but you would most likely reset your contract to 24 months from that point.
As for which router you'd get - I'm afraid I don't know what the plans are for that, or when the new one will be available.

For clarity, you mean the annual price increase, don't you?

No - I mean the increase in the monthly payment for the 1.6Gbps broadband, vs the 900Mbps broadband.

Ah, OK, @DarrenDev .

Hello Darren
Has there been any update on this?
I.e. can TV now be ordered once you have the 1.6Gbs broadband?
I ordered the 1.6Gbs yesterday but the lady said she could only order TV on her system with the 900Mbs broadband but once the 1.6Gbs was activated I could phone and order a TV package.
I have already spoken to Sky to get my TV cancelled from 17/01/025. I really don’t want to go back to Sky and renegotiate a new 2 year TV deal.
Thank you.
