@Emineminemily , @jonboyedwards : It's a scam! There are many of these going the rounds. EE would never send you a msg asking you to click on a link in order to update your a/c.

Don't go there but what was the link?

Report it to your network provider by forwarding it to 7726 (S.P.A.M. on your keypad).

The true giveaway is the link faked to look like EE.

I'm so sorry to hear that, @SRsbrgh.

If she hasn't already, I recommend your daughter gets in contact with her bank as soon as possible. Please also ask her to forward the message she received to 7726.

Hi,

Yes, I've had a text msg today saying virtually the same thing. The link in the text won't load or find.

How do they get your number... Phone numbers being sold again, is it?!

Sorry I came to EE.

Hi there @Lexa_richards

Sorry to hear you have received a fraudulent text.

This isn't a data breach from EE, fraudsters may try this with none EE users too.

If you still have the text can you forward this to 7726, so we can get this looked into for you.

Thanks.

Leanne.

For your information when my daughter followed the link she was faced with what appeared to be a genuine EE web page, so personally I think EE needs to do more in protecting its customers.

Hi,

My daughter was in Malta with us visiting family when she received the text message supposedly from EE.

She had received a similar text message the previous week.

Because she had a new debit card she thought it was because of this.

Subsequently she paid her account, and they held her details, then contacted her the following Saturday from the same Nat West Number which appears on the back of her card, told her they were investigating a couple of unusual transactions, and boom subsequently stole £6800 from her account which was for her wedding next year.

Personally if I could deal with them and find them myself i would see to it that their fingers could never be used for anything ever again.
