Scam call offering me a 30 percent discount

Today I received a call on purportedly 020 4538 9426 from purportedly John purportedly from EE. He asked how I was today and if I wanted a 30 percent discount. The man was speaking with a South Asian accent in what sounded like a call centre.

He asked me to tell him how much I was paying each month so that I could identify myself. I declined and as he was working for EE asked him to tell me how much I was paying. He said that he needed to know to take me through security.

I declined again and he rang off.

I subsequently called 150 and reported this incident to EE. The guy I spoke to confirmed that EE had not contacted me today and that the call was a scam.

I am publishing this to the community so that other are aware of this scam.

i’ve just now received the same exact call from the same guy, his number is 07488 871864 and was speaking in a south asian accent telling me that i can revive a 40% discount, after i said i don’t want it he asked if i wanted to upgrade my call and i decline immediately

You can report the scam call to EE if you text 'CALL' to 7726 followed by a space, then the number that called you, we use the data collected to help protect all of our customers.

Just had the exact same thing but they said they were from champion company and offered me 30% off my gas and electricity bill and pay off any outstanding balance.

Yes l had the same when I told him I wasn’t with EE he said oh are you with BT? I said no he then asked me who I was with, and I said I’m not going to tell you your scammer,

Just had the same call, for 40%, apparently from 0115 6770507.

I had the same call this morning and I hung up on the caller when he asked for my billing from the previous month. Supposedly an Edinburgh number, but from a call centre probably in South Asia. Reported it to EE via 7726.
