You keep on saying this, but this tells you how to turn it ON, not how to turn it OFF. I was told I "had" to have the Moderate controls turned on in order to access things like Facebook. EE introduced this a few days ago without my knowledge or consent. What right does EE have to block anything I want to see? If I wanted parental controls on my phone there are plenty of other ways to do it without the network blocking my phone. I am not a child and there are no children in my household. This should be OPTIONAL, not compulsory for users. I think I will be changing networks when my contract ends as other networks do not seem to be so prescriptive and nannyish. Adults should be allowed to decide what they want to look at. I don't download porn or any kind of "adult" content, it is the principle of the thing that infuriates me.

Hi Rach_H
Well it does not look like it. Firstly, it is wrong for EE to set the "moderate" as the default. Secondly, your telephone support told me that if the Content Lock is turned off, it would prevent access to things like Facebook. The default should be "Off". Users can then decide if they want to use the Content lock and set it to suit their needs. There are plenty of other content blockers available that people can use, Apple has its own settings for the iPhone, for example. EE should review its policy and change the default setting. It is clear from this forum and other comments elsewhere that EE is infuriating its customers by its "nanny" approach and will likely lose customers as a result. Your Guidance does NOT tell people how to switch it off, at least I could not find anywhere where this could be done. I was told I had to phone up, a great waste of my time.
