Hi @Keithr5,

I'm sorry to hear you've been a victim of a phishing scam.

You've done the right thing in reporting it to your credit card company.

If you also shared some of your EE account details, I'd recommend contacting our team on 150 so they can add some further security to your account.

Thanks James B

Dont know how I managed to fall for it - I am usually very wary of such things. I was convinced it was from EE..........

Hi @joncollins_004

Please don't click any links.

I'd recommend reporting this by forwarding the text to 7726.

Katie

What are we up to, 6 or 7 people now who received this specific scam text just hours after upgrading their contract?

The odds of this timing being coincidental are now something like one in a billion. There is an active data breach on EE's end.

You can only safely conclude that by comparing the number of "victims" against the volume of upgrades completed during the same time-frame, without a text message being received. I suspect those would be measured in the tens or hundreds of thousands.

I have had the very same experience with this phishing scam.

Apparently I had 5000 points awarded for being a new valued customer.

Yup, I was a dumbass and clicked on the link. I’ve cancelled my bank card and forwarded the text to 7726. Normally I’m good with these things but just shows I wasn’t paying attention. I spoke to my bank and they’d set up an apple pay account. The bank cancelled it. Phew. Well at least I’ve lost nothing except my pride and hopefully I’ll be a bit wiser.

I had same messge lol they asked me my bank deatils etc
