Fraud

I've just realised that EE is not concerned about being linked to a fraudulent website....if they were they would have proper customer services and you might actually get to speak to someone....

Forgive  my sarcasm  but In my opinion the best place to complain about ontopup would be the fraud squad.

Hi @Profile closed We take fraud very seriously, and offer the option to report scam calls, emails and texts.

We have a site with information on how to avoid scams, which explains how to report any potential scams that you've experienced.

You mentioned EE being linked to a fraudulent website, could you tell us more about that please?

Ontopup sells vouchers for ee and other phone companies basically for a commission but what they don't tell you is that they sign you up for regular payments on your debit card without telling you and without your concent.....but surprise surprise  they'll never admit it...

@Profile closed  Why are you using such a service when you can do this directly with EE ?  And how is it fraud when if you actually read the information provided it does state what you’re about to do.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

It is amazing what you find if you read the website.

Make such a statement as "fraud" could land you in trouble if factually incorrect.

Oh  .....there you go ...looks like the ontopup fraudsters have invaded here.....and by the way I have proof of what ontopup are up to..

The clue is in the word "Auto".

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

I also fell for ontopup a while back, when I needed to quickly make a one-off top-up to a new number. Ontopup might be strictly within the rules, but the setting up of regular payments is buried in the fine print. I wonder how many EE customers haven’t yet noticed that they are making monthly payments to ontopup.

P.S. When I finally noticed the payments and complained to them, they were very quick to refund my money. Relieving, but also part of their survival strategy, to prevent people from bothering to call them out.

@michaelw1  You can use THIS to make a fast payment including PAYG top ups.     You can use we your online account also via the app of on the web.

Once I figure out why anyone is using a 3d party for this who obviously are going to change for that service as it’s a 3rd party who like any 3rd party will want to make money I’ll let you know.
