in the process of migrating to ee, but no service on new sim

in the process of migrating to EE from BT, new phone and sim have arrived but phone advises no service. Is this normal as i was advised it could take 24hrs,also tried another phone with sim same message?

Hello @michael657.
If you submit your PAC code before 5.30pm on a working day, we will endeavour to have your number transferred the following working day.
I would recommend allowing till midnight tonight for your number port to complete, if this has not completed by then please be sure to let us know.

Then the port hasn't started, yet alone completed. Wait until you get a msg from EE that it has all been done.

so the message no service is normal before porting? Does that mean that the phone connected and has started the process?

Have you been advised which day your number is due to port? Or when did you give your PAC to EE?

All info supplied yesterday including PAC. I was advised to put new sim in the new handset that arrived this morning and that would automatically start process but the message no network is concerning me!!
