e-sim

I've been trying to swap to using an esim for some time. I try every few months and keep hitting the same problem. I request an e-sim via the account pages, I ask for the digital one and agree to the charge for the next bill. Then it redirects me to a new page with the message 'esim is a no show. try again later'. I've tried periodically and keep getting the same problem. Would love to email or do online chat for support, but can't be bothered to call for support.

Ah right, well even if you were able to obtain an eSIM you would likely run into issues when trying to activate as your phone will not be able to connect to the EE network when abroad. 😔

Hi @dave189,

Just to confirm, you are on a pay monthly contract?

Have you tried visiting this page to order an eSIM? Or is that the same one you have been trying?

Thanks,

Alex

Hey Alex,

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm on a monthly contract (business). That is the page I've been trying.

This is what I get every single time:

QR code's done a no-show
Please refresh the page or try again later

Hi @dave189,

That is strange - I would recommend going into an EE store instead then where they will be able to give you an eSIM QR code in person.

Is there any reason for wanting to use an eSIM? Are you wanting two different providers on your phone? If not then eSIMs have zero benefits over a traditional sim, they are exactly the same except one is digital.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I'm currently abroad and trying to use a 2nd local sim card, but they don't have esim as an option.

Thanks,

Dave
