I have been told I only have my telephone number for 4 more days. Why???

I recently transferred to EE. I provided my PAC code. I have now received a message saying that I only have my telephone number for a further four days. Why is this and how do I retain my number?

Transfered phone number does not appear in phones data

Moved phone from BT to EE and old number was transferred to new phone but old number doae not appear in the phone data only the new SIM number. Why doesn't the phone data show my old phone number
