Why do EE make it difficult to transfer from a business to personal tariff?

We are well out of business contract on 2 sim only numbers. EE now offer a good personal deal so I wanted to transfer both phones to personal and take advantage of the lower tariff. I was informed that, if I transferred to a personal tariff, I would have to continue paying my old tariff for a further 6 months before I could get the better personal tariff. Is this true? It makes no sense whatsoever. I have requested PAC codes for both numbers as it seems we will now be leaving EE for a new provider.

If you are within your minimum term, then using a PAC will incur early termination charges.

When does your minimum term end?
