Help! Transferring from BT to EE

Please can someone help. Do I need a pac code to keep my number if I’m transferring from BT to EE?

I'm transferring my sim only mobile account for myself and my 3 kids. 4 SIM cards have arrived but only 3 PAC codes. I didn’t worry too much about that because the sales lady who sorted the transfer (I was upgrading my BT broadband at the same time) said I wouldn’t need to do anything with the PAC codes.

i did my daughters phone first as hers is the least disastrous to lose. Put in the new SIM card and it did ask for a PAC code. I put it in and eventually I got it working (it took ages and I called EE, was told I’d put the wrong SIM card in the phone - how am I meant to know which is which when 4 identical sims with no instructions or labelling of any kind ?! Anyway sorted now) I then did my two sons’ with mixed results as again guessed incorrectly which sim was for which phone.
Now  just mine is left to do and I’m panicking because I don’t have a pac code and am not sure if I need one or not. Meanwhile my old sim has stopped working so I can’t call or text BT or EE. Please can someone help?
thanks

Hi @LB4291,

Welcome to the Community!

@XRaySpeX is correct, you will need a PAC to transfer your number between networks. If you give us a call on one of the lines where the number transfer has completed then the team should be able to get this sorted for you.

Thanks for the replies guys.
it turns out I didn’t need a PAC code after all. I called 150 from my daughter’s phone earlier and the guy said it looked like the transfer was already in progress, so I put the new sim in and it worked straight away. Who knew 🤷‍♀️

Can’t fault EE but it would have saved me a lot of time and stress if BT had actually told me what I needed to do in the first place… 😊
